Veet: Ready To Use Wax Strips

Veet: Ready-To-Use Wax Strips
Honestly there are very few beauty products that I try out that just completely and utterly disappoint me, but I am afraid to say that I have found one of those products. Veet’s Waxing Strips. Being a mom of an active two year old I am always on the lookout for a quick, long lasting shaving solution. Especially since we live in a very hot humid climate. Recently while I was watching TV I saw an ad for Veet Waxing Strips, being super excited by the thought of only having to wax my legs every 28 days or once a month made me rush right out to buy them on my next trip to Wal-Mart. Now being a somewhat practical woman I know that in all likely hood the strips really wouldn’t cut down my shave time to once a month but I was hoping for every other week at least. I purchased the box for $7.97 at Wal-Mart, not a bad price at all. Upon arriving home I made sure to wash my legs and get ready to start waxing! Lol.

After carefully reading the instructions I began by warming the waxing strips in my hands by rubbing them together for 10 to 15 seconds, separating the strips and applying them to my legs , making sure to rub the wax strips down in the direction that the hair grows. After waiting approximately 15 seconds I ripped the strips up my leg anddd….. 60% or more of the hair was still left on my leg. Thinking that perhaps I had done something wrong I went back and tried again, sigh…. And low and behold the hair was still on my legs. I can’t say that I was too shocked by the results. Over the years I have tried many different types of hair removal creams and waxing strips and found nothing works as well as a good old fashion razor and shaving cream. So all in all I would have to give this product a 1 star out of 5 and a guarantee that I will NOT be repurchasing this product.

BOLD Or Natural Eyebrows

Of late I have really been into bold eyebrows. I can't really say what started it; perhaps it was during one of those moments while I was watching YouTube videos or checking out the latest episode of Project Runway but never the less I have been hooked on bold eyebrows. My next problem was figuring out how they were able to make their eyebrows so bold but yet not unnatural for an everyday use. In the begin I started out with eye brow pencils but quickly decided that made my eye brows look caked or drawn on, leaving me with an unnatural look. The next item I found was an eye brow shadow duo by Anastasia. And boy let me tell you did I find a winner! I choose the brunette duo. As you can see from the picture below. One side of the duo has a softer brown side and the other side has a dark light chocolate. Giving you choices with whether you want to go really dark with your eyebrows or perhaps going with a shade lighter. For me personally I enjoy mixing the shadows together then applying to my brows. Choosing an eyebrow color is important but the most part to me is a good eyebrow brush. Really you can use any angle brush but at Target you can find a decent eyebrow brush for less than $5! I don’t know about you but being a girl on a budget I can tell you what an amazing price that is. Oh! In case you was wondering about where to find the Anastasia eyebrow duo I was talking about above you can really find it any Sephora or Ulta and it runs right around $23 but yet again as a girl on a budget you can also find other eyebrow shadows from ELF a cosmetic that can be found in Dollar Stores or Wal-Mart for right around $3… but really if you don’t want to put out the money for the Anastasia brand I would recommend Bare Essentials for right around $11 J
The top picture feature my eyebrows filled in and the bottom picture shows my eyebrows all natural. Having bold eyebrows doesn't mean over the top but well defined and shaped.

And here my makeup duo and brush.

Amazing MakeUp Steals for a Great Price!

Makeup and fashion hasn't always been an interest of mind. In fact it was just about a year ago upon discovering one of my favorite YouTube blogger's, HairGirl 24/7, that I was completely introduced to my new found love! But figuring out where to start was the tough part. What makeup's should I buy? Why doesn't my makeup look like the video or why doesn't my hair lay the exact same way? So let me tell you it has indeed been a struggle! But one that it was well worth. I wouldn't say that I am exactly an expert or anything when it comes to this stuff. Really I'm just a young mom on a budget! Now that I have spent the first half of this blog rambling on and on about non sense I'm going to tell you the true purpose of my blog today, and might I add my first blog ever! So you'll have to bare with me while I figure this out.

Recently I returned back from a brief visit at my hometown in West Virginia. I have been on a hunt to further explore my love of makeup and fashion. And I have been fortunately been able to come by some amazing new products for an incredible price!

First up:
For those of you who aren't Beauty Insider with Sephora big mistake! I was browsing my email last Friday when I came upon an email from Sephora telling me about celebrating the one year anniversary of Beauty Insider! And I was fortunate to come buy these two products listed above.
  •      Sephora Collection: Artist ColorBox Makeup Collection
    • 24 WATERPRROF Eyeshadow
    • 6 Lip glosses
    • 5 Eye pencils
    • Double ended Makeup Applicator
Since I just recently got this palate this weekend for $18 ( Normally $34 ) I have to tell you I have been very excited to try this out! From what little bit I have got to play with this makeup the colors are gorgeous with nice deep color. That seems to last for a good while! Hopefully sometime this week I can get a chance to do a quick makeup look or two to show that I have came up with this palate. I can't tell you how excited I am to show you how beautiful those lovely eye popping colors look!

The second eye item showed in the bottom part of this picture is the Lorac Pro Mascara
  •      Lorac Pro Masacra
    • Great for Lengthening and Thickening
This mascara has a great this creamy mascara that has an all day long lasting strength! The brush has a thinner tip brushed that becomes "rounder" for lack of better terminology at the end. The thinner tip is great for getting in the inner corner of your eyes while the rounded end is fantastic for creating a great cat eye! And the best part of all I was able to get this makeup for a $10 ( Normally $23 ).

Second:
Fake eyelashes have always been an interest of mind and at one point I even thought of them as goudy or unseemly but after entering the makeup world I have found what an amazing impact the can make on finishing a look! Being that I am still new and learning about all these wonderful makeup products I just recent found out about reusable eyelashes! Crazy concept to me. Upon discovering this fact I set out to find some of these eyelashes! Upon a trip today to Ulta ( Another new discovery of mind that my boyfriend introduced me to a couple months ago in Pittsburgh, PA ) today I found the reusable Katy Perry Eyelashes, this week they was on sale, two pairs $7.99 for $12! Good deal I thought. But while checking out at the register I saw the pack pictured above for $9.99! How awesome is that! Four pairs for $9.99! What a steal! If it hadn't been to late when I got home I would definitely would be trying them on tonight. I'll make that I take pictures and post what I think of these eyelashes.

If you are still reading this incredibly long post remember that fashion can come at any cost. It doesn't matter if you are spending a $100 on a makeup set or $10 on a clearance rack, its about making you feel great about yourself at a price that is affordable for you! Thanks for reading and let me know what ya'll think! Bye!
